Jennifer Aniston
Jennifer Aniston was born February 11, 1969 in Sherman Oaks, California,
the daughter of John Aniston (soap actor on "Days of Our Lives") and
Nancy Aniston. From Greek heritage, Jennifer spent one year in Greece
as a child. The family fortune changed when her father acquired a
role on the soap drama, "Love of Life," after which the family relocated
to New York. When her parents separated (Jennifer was only nine years
old), she was raised by her mother. Inspired at an early age to follow
a career in acting, Jennifer joined the Rudolf Steiner School's drama
club at the age of eleven. As well as acting, Jennifer studied
painting, and after one of her paintings was displayed at a major
exhibit in the NY Metropolitan Museum of Art, she was accepted to a New
York school for the Performing Arts. After High School, she worked in a
burger restaurant while pursuing her acting career. She finally
captured a handful of off-Broadway roles, but then decided to move west.
Playing in a few undistinguished television shows, she finally tested
for the pilot for "Friends Like Us," trying out first for Monica's role,
before convincing the producers that she would be more natural as
Rachel. The long-running "Friends" sitcom has been interspersed with both
comedic and dramatic cinema roles.
